Planning your Visit  Boulevard Flower Gardens hosts outdoor events from April through November for groups up to 2500. This Planning Guide is to provide you with helpful information to make certain your day runs smoothly.   Boulevard Flower Gardens is the perfect place to have your company event, wedding, family reunion, birthday party, baby shower, or casual party. We provide a unique setting with an informal atmosphere that fosters interaction and builds relationships between guests.

We encourage you to visit Boulevard Flower Gardens at least 4-6 weeks before your event for a planning session and to see if our facilities meet your needs and expectations. During the planning session we will outline the activities and times for your event. This will help both parties plan a successful event. Should you have any questions, feel free to call us. Facilities

Nursery – Come take a walk through our nursery and get creative…

Greenhouse – Look in our greenhouse for tropical setting with water fountains trickling in the background from January to March. We have springtime lush tropical vines, hibiscus and blooming annual color in April and May. In September and October you can enjoy the beauty of fall with the warmth of golden colors. And in November and December the vibrant reds of the holiday season and the lights of the trees will surround your event. You can rent the green house for your special event for $150 deposit and additional $50 per hour of active event. Accommodates 300 comfortably. Available from 7:30 to 11:00 PM.

Garden Café – Great for meeting a client or for your Garden Club meeting. Enjoy lunch with a sandwich, salad, wrap or coffee at our unique Café. Comfortable seating for up to 24, with additional seating available in our meeting room or out on the sidewalk.

Gift Shop – Just off the highway exit, we have popular Virginia food products of local honey, preserves, peanuts, ham, sausage, wine and more. Seasonal home decor and flags, along with garden accents, and silk or fresh floral designs. Christmas is particularly exciting here!

Pavilion – Having a party? We have a great place for that! With your reservation, plan to spend special moments with your friends down by our pond. We have a 20×40 pavilion, as well as a bandstand. Wedding Receptions, Birthday Parties, Reunions, Retirement Celebrations, Baby or Wedding Showers, and anything in between – we can accommodate your gathering of 50 to 2500!

Meeting/Conference Room – This area is next to our Café and is great for small group meetings, like your garden club, wedding/baby shower, lunch meeting, etc.

Other Great Options  Add any of these on to your child’s birthday party and make it a day they will never forget (additional cost applies).

  • Clay pot painting craft with a planting to take home and watch grow ($5 per child)
  • Castle Moon Bounce ($50)
  • Pony Ride ($7  per child with birthday child riding first and last! Minimum of $70 to reserve pony. Maximum weight is 80 lbs.)
  • Children can feed grain to goats and peanuts to pigs (no additional charge with a party reservation)

If you hire catering or entertainment, we must communicate with them in order to discuss arrival & set-up times, insurance and electrical logistics.

Scheduling  Boulevard Flower Gardens schedules its calendar exclusively by receipt of initial deposit.

Rain Policy  Boulevard Flower Gardens has both indoor and outdoor facilities. We do not schedule rain dates in advance. Outdoor events cancelled within 48 hours of the event (due to threat of rain) will receive $50 back from the initial deposit. Call our office for the final word on rain cancellations.

Alcoholic Beverage Policy  If alcohol is being served, an ABC license is required.

Number of Guests and Guarantee  Your total person count is the total number of adults and children who will be attending your event. In order for us to schedule labor necessary for your outing, in is imperative to have this count at least seven days in advance. Please note that the count provided us the week before will be the minimum number for which your group is billed.

Privacy  Boulevard Flower Gardens is a working garden center open to the public and may have other activities taking place on the day of your event. However, if an event is scheduled at our facility, it is exclusively for your group. We will make sure that your party remains private for the duration of your event.

State Taxes  The Virginia retail sales tax is currently 5 percent on the full amount of the contract price less optional services. This amount will be added to your bill unless your group has a current tax-exempt certificate. If so, please furnish a copy of this certificate before your event.

Billing  Our payment process is:

  • A non-refundable fee will hold a date.
  • Final head count is due seven days prior to event.
  • All other payments will be due the day of the event.

Restrictions and Regulations  We do have some restrictions. The coordinator of the event should consider the following when planning an event:

  • Any bands that are hired must control their volume so as not to disturb neighboring residential areas and other businesses nearby.
  • We reserve the right to be the final authority of the proper volume level of any music or sounds.
  • Electrical needs and set-up for bands must be discussed before the event.

Safety  All groups must be self-insured. Any entertainment you hire is your responsibility regarding insurance and accidents. Boulevard Flower Gardens assumes no responsibility for injuries. However there are certain dangers that we cannot protect against, and other things that are out of our control. Outdoor events may trigger allergies in some individuals, whether grass, pollen or bug bites. Be sure that your guests are aware of the nature setting.

Chairs, Tables, and Tents  We have 24 wooden picnic tables on site, along with a Bandstand and a 20×40 covered pavilion with electricity. In the event that upgraded seating and tables are desired, we can recommend a list of rental businesses that have supplied those needs for events with us before.

Young Children  Parents must assume responsibility for children at all times.

First Aid  We have a first aid kit for minor cuts and scrapes for your use. Chesterfield  Fire and EMS is 6 miles away.

Parking  Boulevard Flower Gardens has ample parking for your group. Please let us know if there are any handicapped members of your group or people with special needs so we can make every effort to accommodate them.

Athletic Equipment  You may wish to designate someone from your group to organize games or competitions prior to your arrival. Equipment for horseshoes is available without charge. Some guests have brought their own corn toss games for tournaments.

Decorations  We must approve any decorations you put up. You may decorate up to 24 hours prior to your party. You must clean up all of your decorations. In some cases, decorations may be taken down the following day within a given time slot, but all alcohol must be removed from the premises at the close of your event. We are not responsible for anything left after the party. However, if things of value are left by mistake, we will try to save them and notify you.  If items are not claimed they will be placed in our “Lost and Found”. We keep all items turned into us for a period of 30 days. After that, they will be donated to charity. Boulevard Flower Gardens is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Activities and Extras  Activities and extras can enhance your event. At the time of planning, we can give you accurate costs for Hayrides, Bonfire, Kettle Corn, Moon Bounce, Clay Pot Painting and Planting, and Pony Rides. If you hire any entertainment on your own, we must communicate with them in order to discuss insurance and logistics.

The Day of Your Event  We suggest that the coordinator of your event be one of the first guests to arrive. You will be greeted by a representative of Boulevard Flower Gardens. They will explain the general layout, itinerary, and any last minute changes. There will be a representative of the Gardens available throughout your event to answer any questions you may have.
